1.1. Armoiries of the archdiocese
of Sherbrooke
Blasonnement: Of azure, to a cross of muzzles broadside and
fleurdélisée of money, loaded of one crown of gold and pearls
put on the croisilliion of the cross and one gold flight in
tip, on a mount of money loaded of two waved strips of the first
and moving of the tip.
Unscrew: '' Fetched "Deus ut.

Symbolism: The cross rouge(gueules)
with the crown and them go éployées describe in heraldic language
the person of Michel saint, prince of the celestial militia,
boss of the archdiocese and the cathedral of Sherbrooke. The
color bruise (Azure) and the crown is in honor of the a lot
of Saint Virgin Marie, queen of the Estrie, vocal under which
is invoked in the archdiocese. The red cross of Michel saint
is edged and fleurdelisée of money to recall the French and
Catholic résussite of the Estrie: one evokes the flag of the
Provience of Quebec that carries a cross of money, accompanied
by four flowers of lily on bottom of azure, thus.
The mount that sustains the cross relates to the rock that dominated
the Sherbrooke of once and that one named: - Hill of the Flag
(Flag Staff Hill). It is on this rock that the first chapel
of Sherbrooke, site of the premièere church, the first cathedral
and the church mother of the archidocèse, was constructed. The
waved strips of azure recall the numerous lakes and rivers of
the Estrie.
It is under the glorious symbols of the Cross and Lilies that
the Virgin Marie and holy Michel archangel, celestial defenders
of France protect the Estrie.

Elected bishop of Saint-Anne Of Her, May 31, 1965. Dedicated
in the cathedral of Saint _Anne, following August 15, by his/her/its
Eminence the cardial Louis-Albert Vachon, metropolitan archbishop
of Quebec and primate of the Canadian church;
Promoted archbishop coadjutor of Sherbrooke February 15, 1995,
he/it arrives to Sherbrooke April 27, 1995, becomes the seventh
bishop and the fourth archbishop of Sherbrooke July 1st, 1996;
As metropolitan of the ecclesiastical
province of Sherbrooke he/it receives the pallium of the Mgr
Maurice Couture hands, archbishop of Quebec and primate of the
Canadian church, September 25, 1997, in the basilica - cathedral

Jesus often passes an invisible manner but if we are not always
attentive to his/her/its message, we don't keep it, because
we are too hurried, we are more and more visual because of
the Internet and news; to listen to it to make silence, to
go back in us same, is necessary but for it it is necessary
to be to the monitoring of God's speech, it is necessary to
come to our Church to listen to this speech.

Our
Pasteur My Lord Gaumond is rather visible in our diocese,
he/it works a lot, he/it listens a lot and he/it also puts
the gestures that can disturb us; but if one accepts God's
Will with humility and poverty of mind the acceptance is easier.
The bishop's task is not always known of God's children, but
what is important to my eyes, it is that it represents the
Good Pasteur, the representative of Jesus and St. Pierre,
it is the respondent of our St. Father the Pope in our diocese,
named by the Pope to direct God's children. The bishop must
have a vision of the future in his/her/its diocese and must
see what is at present necessary present.
Perfect obedience
The obedience is a dangerous weapon for those and those that
don't know well how to serving, because it can move away a
soul of his/her/its vocation forever; but an obedience accepted
in God's will, it makes some holy (are) for the eternity:
You will be, you as obedient to God's will on your vocational
call so God asks you for devenir_ priest, permanent deacon,
brother, nun, hermit, dedicated virgin, widowed and widowed
dedicated, laymen dedicated by temporary wishes, then private,
definitive and if your bishop allows it to you publics; but

How to make to abandon all that one possesses? How to lose
his/her/its body and his/her/its soul? While delivering itself/themselves
entire to the obedience between his/her/its superior hands.
Everything that makes and everything that a topic says is
real obedience act to two conditions: on the one hand that
it was objectively about a good action; on the other hand
that one is certain not to go against the superior will.
A topic believes to feel sometimes that another orientation
would be better and more useful for his/her/its soul that
the one that is imposed to him: that he/it makes to God the
sacrifice of his/her/its project, and that he/it gets in to

is God Trinitaire that calls us to a vocation in the church.
We are God's children and we must follow it on the road that
he/it chose for us and with us, but he/it lets us free to follow

you must know the human fight, you must pass by spiritual nights,
of the deserts, of the doubts, to verify your call, but so all
becomes again clear and that you withdraw the peace of it and
your conviction told to you that you are on the good way, then
continuous to pray; then, you will be capable to fight the devil
and his/her/its depend, these people who wonder in your family,
in your middle of life, if you didn't lose the head, there is
anything easy; but if they see that you persevere against wind
and tides, then, they will change speech and will come to push
you to pursue the browsed path and when you will either be dedicated
neat they will be the first to congratulate you, and to be proud
that you are stayed standing: you already have noticed that
few people encourage the last class: but if the last class believes

Four young men of the movement Marie Jeunesse

One had in Sherbrooke Dr Alexander Mignaut that wanted to
be a priest but was not able to, he/it became physician, big
father and rear big father; when his/her/its wife had died,
he was see Mgr, Jean Marie Fortier, archbishop of Sherbrooke
to this time that made him follow some courses and priest
ordered it; he passed 80 years, and he died the 06-03-2000,
I believe, to 90 years... but he/it worked in a home of aged
people; it had finally been capable to find a bishop that
he also believed that age didn't have anything to make; when
a person so long keeps his/her/its desire to give itself/themselves
to God, but because of the circumstances of his/her/its life
has cannot be made, but once free, made his/her/its demand,
and My Lord Fortier accepted in spite of its age to take it
under his/her/its tutelage and to order it priest.One lacks
priests in the homes of aged people, in the religious communities,
in the groups of parishes, your work consisted so only in
taking the relief the ends of the weeks in a parish to allow

ministry of the baptisms, of the confessions,: our priests
are overflowed, they don't have still the time to wait for

the nun, the brother, the hermit, the Dedicated Virgin, the

accept that this soul becomes, permanent prêtre,diacre,

you, one day you will find this bishop and together you will
walk toward this call and him in so much qu ' bishop of the
place where you live in will dedicate to you or will order
you priest. But it is necessary to let itself tame c.a.d creates
some ties with your bishop, follow his/her/its instructions,
pray and wait and one day Mind Saint will make that you will
be able to finalisé officially this call owing the
whole diocesan community, like a person who held good in life,

bishop and the worries of the diocese in his/her/its prayers,

it, he/it continues in spite of his/its age to travel, to

the right of the minorities, etc, it is in the daily prayer;
in his/her/its private chapel, he is going to receive this
spiritual food that God Trinitaire, Father, Son, Mind gives

you want to know if your bishop is good, watch to ask it,
and you will see that his/her/its vocation is strong, if it

If you want to
know if you are praying, makes then as them, go present you

work from 40 to 70 o'clock per week, that baptized some children,
