It is in this place that his/her/its desire will nurture to "make a convent" of which it will always consider the foundation as being Marie's work. Please, don't worry for what one can say or make, Abandon all to the Saint-Virgin, hold yourselves in his/her/its arms with the biggest confidence. If you like this good Mother well, if you pray it with devotion, she/it will arrange you all your business; give him all and live saintly. Marie Rivier, Letter 1243-22,

Notre-Dame of the Smile

Of the class of Marie Rivier, in Montpezat, there was very near in an oratory, the Virgin's small statue to the serious and stern expression. The young schoolmistress often came there to pray with his/her/its pupils. The statue made of wood of polychrome belonged has a poor and holy girl of Montpezat who bequeathed it to a friend. This last ends up accepting to yield it to the Sœurses of the Presentation of the convent of Montpezat. December 5, 1903, at the time of the expulsions, the statue was brought to Borough-Saint - Andéol where it is honored since, at the time of his/her/its restoration, in 1982, one added the child on his/her/its knees. A retort made of wood has been sculpted, in 1994, by a sister moniale of Bethlehem and l ' Assumption of the Virgin Marie,; she/it is kept general home. It is in front of this very former statue of Notre-Dame that Marie Rivier had his/her/its pupils promising them the Virgin's smile asked. They got more of once this smile, in particular one day where Marie Rivier, confident to the Virgin his/her/its projects of foundation of a convent, implored it to make know him, by a sign, the will of God and his. The pupils turn it to deposit before the statue a paper bent like a letter. Then she/it tells them of an animate tone: "My children, it is necessary to get today a big grace: if you pray with devotion, the Virgin Saint will grant you, and will make it to you to know. If she/it is happy with your devotion, she/it will smile you" Toward the middle of the prayer, in a same instant, a same scream came out of all mouths: "Iaro sweetbread! Iaro sweetbread! Now she/it laughs! Now she/it laughs!" One of the pupils presents that day will testify later: "That one believes it, that one doesn't believe it, it is the pure truth, that saw you the Virgin to smile. We had prayed it well; but I must say it, it was the example, it is the faith to live our main qu gave us the devotion."

According to F. Mourret, The Venerable Marie Rivier p. 82-82Ô my good Mother, who inspired me to make this small establishment to instruct youth, all unworthy that I was to dedicate me to a work so holy, condescend to take it again under your auspices…Nous renew all together the consecration that we made you all ourselves. We want more than ever to belong you entirely and irrevocably and I declare you, as much as I the then, the absolute Mistress of the whole Community. Accept the confidence with which we throw ourselves between your arms and condescend to grant us your maternal protection. Marie Rivier to the Virgin Marie, 12, August 1890,

Notre-Dame of the Apple tree

This ancient statue made of polychrome wood is venerated in the parochial church of Largentière (Ardèche). The church dates the XIII century, but the statue would be the XVIe century. A popular tradition explains the origin and the name of the statue. When one wanted to raise a church in Largentière, one began to work instead chosen, the hill of Fanjaux, but every night the tools of the workers disappeared to reappear the following day morning under an apple tree of an opposite hill. One lives in this fact a sign of the divine will and one constructs the church on the hill of the apple tree. According to another etymology, it would be necessary to write Notre-Dame of the Apple trees and to join the words "apple trees" to the Latin term designating the battlements of a city. The title would correspond then to Notre-Dame of the Remparts.C'ests at the time of the painful departure of Montpezat for Thueyts and before the oppositions that emerged sudden against his/her/its arrival in this last city that Marie Rivier was going to venerate Our Lady of the Apple tree. The church being closed by order of the revolutionary authorities, it was able to nevertheless to make open it and prayed there for a long time, during three days, hoping to see to happen to someone messenger to bring back it to Thueyts.Au boils of this time, a messenger arrived. He/it was carrier of a M lette, Pontanier that, with all l ' authority that he gave his/her/its character of priest and spiritual director, summoned in Marie Rivier the order to come back to Thueyts. "In the name of Jesus Christ, told to him him, come to Thueyts, such is God's will, I cannot question some after having thought there maturely; it is there that the Providence calls you to make the good." Marie Rivier didn't hesitate one instant to submits has this order in which she lives a confirmation of the interior movements that the grace operated in its heart.

According to F. Morret, The Venerable Marie Rivier 88.Mettez all your goodwill to form you to everything that is necessary for the education of the children, and hold lend you to leave the temple as Marie in saints arrangement when the moment of God's will will have come, to be going to work to the salute of the world. Then, leave, as her, burning of goodwill to be going to carry, made to know and to like Christ in the parishes where he/it will call you. Marie Rivier, Writes spiritual p. 74-76

Meditation for the rosary of Notre-Dame of the Apple tree

1. he/it lives a big crowd and he/it had mercy of it because they were as sheep who doesn't have a shepherd, (Mc, 6, 34) "While seeing the borough of Thueyts, I had two feelings very living persons: it was a sort of sadness or compassion to the thought that people were unhappy and to pity, and at the same time the ardent desire to live to the mileu of them". So much that there will be a corner of earth where Christ is not known and beloved, the girls of the Woman-Apostle cannot remain in rest (108). Notre-Dame of the Apple tree, get us an ardent goodwill to make to know and to like Jesus Christ.

2. it is necessary to pray always without getting tired ever. (Lc 18.1) In the church of Largentière, officially closed by the revolutionaries, Marie Rivier comes to spill his/her/its supplications; "During three days, I come back to pray frequently by Notre-Dame of the Apple tree, I recited some rosaries…" The Virgin Marie offers us his/her/its maternal recourse to sustain our hope and his/her/its powerful mediation for the salute of all his/her/its children of the earth (112). Notre-Dame of the Apple tree, our hope, shows us the paths of the future, please.

3. my food is to make the will of the one that sent to me and to accomplish his/her/its work. (jn4,34) "in the name of Christ, my dear girl, come to Thueyts. Such is God's will." Marie Rivier receives this order like a command of the sky and don't hesitate one instant to submit itself/themselves of it. When we receive (our obedience) in the faith, we are sure to be where God wants us (…) All our life (…) becomes an act of the redeeming Christ, a divine liturgy to God's glory (C 38). Notre-Dame of the Apple tree, our hope, shows us the paths of the future, please.

4.. the one that wants to come to my continuation, that he/it is in charge of his/its cross and that he/it follows me (Mt 16,24) "I left, gone up on a donkey. All along the path, I only live some crosses. I was content with offering me to God to support with his/her/its grace all sufferings." By our evangelical wishes, our life marries the Christ's whole life. Delivered entirely with his to the Father's wills, we offer it in holy sacrifice for the glory of God and the salute of the world (C 4) Notre-Dame of the Apple tree, our hope, shows us the paths of the future, please.

5. goes, sell what you possess and give it to the poor people; come then, follow me. (Mt 19,21) "When Marie Rivier surrendered in Thueyts, she went there like an apostle; she/it carried all his/her/its trousseau under the arm having given the whole remains to the poor people." The saints take l ' Gospel to the letter. We chose to make us poor volunteers in order to free our heart with regard to goods of this world for the praise of God and the service of his/her/its glory (C 23) Notre-Dame of the Apple tree, our hope, shows us the paths of the future, please.

Notre-Dame of the Good Help

In Lablachère, a township in the south d ' Aubenas (Ardèche), the Virgin is honored under the name of Notre-Dame of Good Help. A first chapel, blessed March 22, 1682, day of the Branches, was decorated of a statue made of wood to drown, work of an artist of l‘époque. This statue represents the Queen of the Sky holding the one-handed scepter and the other l ' Child Jesus. The pilgrimage, to Notre-Dame of Good Help developed himself quickly. The chapel become too small was rebuilt in 1783. Closed during the French Revolution, she/it deteriorated very quickly, but the statue was preserved. As soon as the past storm, the pilgrims came back numerous to the sanctuary and it was necessary to think about rebuilding. Begun in 1835, the present basilica was only finished in 1880. In 1796, the small convent of Marie Rivier was in an extreme poverty; the Founder always waited for an express approval of gentleman Vernet and lacked qualified staff for his/her/its newborn work; she/it addressed her/its Protector then the Virgin Saint, with a child's simplicity and wrote him a long letter that she/it made carry on the altar of Our - Lady of Good Help in Lablachère.

According to F. Morret, The Venerable Marie Rivier, p. 105-221 I exhort you to really hold company to the Virgin Mary with the foot of the Cross, unite yourselves to her in all your pains. I want his/her/its resignation, his/her/its strength and his/her/its generosity in what the Lord will ask you. Marie Rivier. Letter 378-4th, January 22, 1828,

Notre-Dame of the Presentation

Two stages sculpted, Marie's Presentation to the temple and Annunciation, decorated the high altar of the chapel of the Penitents, on both sides of the tabernacle. It is at the rear of this altar that was the statue of mercy Notre-Dame before which Marinette came day after day to ask for his/her/its recovery. So much that she/it was in her/its native village, Marie Rivier surrendered to pray often in this place. His/her/its eyes probably landed on the low - reliefs representing these two mysteries of the life of the Virgin Marie. According to the Chaudouard canon, the altar would be the work of some imagier of the end of the XVII e century. He/it is now at the parochial church of Montpesat, in a chapel of the lateral nave,; he/it is surmounted of the statue of Mercy Notre-Dame. Mr. Pontanier, after having instructed Mr. Vernet of the œuvres and the projects of Miss Rivier for a long time, had received this answer of it: "Without giving an express approval, I agree to what Miss Rivier goes from the before". Mr. Pontanier communicates this news and added: "We are to November 20. Don't wait for the 25, feast of Saint Catherine,; you will celebrate tomorrow the feast of Marie's Presentation and you will dedicate him your house, your pupils and your projects". in the name of the Presentation of the Virgin Saint, to the brief explanations that his/her/its pickets director gave him on the significance of this feast, the future Founder felt penetrated of a big joy; she/it immediately had the intimate conviction that his/her/its most expensive vœux was going to be achieved, that the so much wanted community was going to be born finally and that the Virgin Saint herself wanted to preside to his/her/its birth, under the patronage of one of his/her/its most touching mysteries. So was founded, November 21, 1796, the institute of the Sœurses of Marie's Presentation,

According to F. Mourret, The Venerable Marie Rivier p. 106-107 It is necessary that I tell you, my dear girls, that while speaking to you the origin of our Institute, I feel to occur again in me all feelings that I had in this beautiful day where I had happiness to kiss this holy vocation that I wanted so ardently since my childhood, without knowing it. I feel all penetrated of recognition for the big grace that God made me me there to have called, and you all also, Oh! that I like it this holy vocation, I like it as the Paradise. Marie Rivier. Written Spiritual p. 72

Meditation for the rosary of Notre-Dame of the Presentation

1. will return thanks to the Lord for the mystery of offering of Marie in the temple. Poor among his/her/its people, all tense toward God since the first awakening of his/her/its liberty, she/it opens up without limit to his/her/its Speech, in the simplicity of his/her/its heart and the purity of his/her/its faith (46) By you, Virgin Marie, we renew our offering in this temple that yourself opened us. 3. return thanks to the Lord for Marie Rivier, our Mother. His/her/its passion for Christ seized it entire, it would have liked to have one thousand lives to offer for the salute of the world. Notre-Dame of Thueyts

This statue is honored in the parochial church of Thueyts, "When bread missed, tell Sœur Sophie, Marie Rivier was going to cry in the chapel of Notre-Dame, to l ' Church of Thueyts. One day, enter other, having cried there a long time bitterly, she/it entered, to the return, at M, Pontanier. Without announcing him his/her/its grief and by a feature of the Providence, she/it received a gift of 12 francs of it, what was a considerable sum seen the misery where one was". later, Marie Rivier will deliver herself his/her/its memories: "How many times I am he/it arrived to pass of the whole hours before the Virgin Saint, praying it with abundance of tears, to give us bread to my companions and to me and often I received the help while leaving l ' Church. Notre-Dame of Thueyts is the Virgin of the beginnings. In 1796, in full Revolution, it is Marie who inspired to Mayor Rivier and his/her/its companions the audacity his/her/its to dedicate to God and youth. It is Marie who sustained the small community in his/her/its heroic beginnings whereas most extreme poverty reigned in the house. Marie Rivier "never lost the confidence in God and in the protection of the Virgin Saint, and this time of scarcity was, according to his/her/its testimony, the time of the biggest devotion of the community, so much for the pupils that for the sœurs. " (Sœur Sophie. Life of our Venerable Mother Rivier) The life of these first sœurs, pillars of the Community, teaches us what means, for Marie's girl Rivier being absolutely to Christ. "While seeing to the work our valiant eldests, we won't be able to stop from concluding: why would not I make, me also, what these big souls made?"

(First companions of Marie Rivier. Préface)Rappelez You, my to stretch Mother, what I endured during the two or three first years, often lacking bread to feed the small herd that you had confided to me, how many times endured the hunger and a lot of other miseries lacking all! How many times I passed of the whole hours to your feet founding in tears and asking you for bread and what was us necessary to feed us and to clothe us; finally you always came to our help in our pressing needs; by the prayer and the confidence in you, we got everything. Marie Rivier, Letter to the Virgin Saint, August 24, 1835.

Meditation for the rosary of Notre-Dame of Thueyts

1. I owe to the truth to confess here that it is the humility, the simplicity and the mind of poverty that I saw in my Superior and in my companions who helped me to persevere. (…) Yes, I repeat it, it is the simplicity and the poverty of our Community that I kept there and attaché. (Sœur Marie Vincent of Paule to My Lord Guilbert) Ask for ourselves today the humility, the simplicity and the mind of poverty that impregnated our origins. Notre-Dame of Thueyts, get us the grace to be absolutely Jesus' humble and poor Christ.

2. the ties that unite us are too holy to be broken. I believe that we can say this qu one said the first Christian, that we only have a heart and that a soul. Live God who calls us to a so holy, so sublime association! (Sœur Chantal, in Thueyts) Ask that our community looks like the one of Thueyts, that we are together, in the middle of the world, a d sign ' hope and of peace. Our - Lady of Thueyts, get us the grace to be absolutely Jesus' humble and poor Christ.

3. I make you the irrevocable grant of my will and everything that is in me or of me, to use some only according to the Rule, wanting to follow your intentions even when I will know them. It is of this way that I will be assured to make God's Will and that I will be your true girl (Sœur Gertrude in Marie Rivier) Ask a quick faith to have the expression of God's Will in the human mediations, in the Rule of Life. Notre-Dame of Thueyts, get us the grace to be absolutely Jesus' humble and poor Christ.

4. I feel in me such a goodwill for the glory of God and the salute of the souls that if I had one thousand lives, I would give them for these two reasons, and whatever is the expensive sacrifices that Our - Lord can require me, I would not swing, me ' m would carry there gladly. (Sœur Agnès in Marie Rivier) Ask that our cœurses burn apostolic goodwill to the point to make accept us to all to suffer to announce the gospel. Notre-Dame of Thueyts, get us the grace to be absolutely Jesus' humble and poor Christ.

5. I will always keep a good memory of Sœur Sophie; all in her made the good because all in her carried to God. I like to remind it, introverted before the tabernacle, to me and so united to Notre-Seigneur that she/it seemed not to be anymore of this earth. (Testimony of a contemporary) Ask the grace to evangelize as much by the radiance of our life full of the presence of the Lord as by our words. Notre-Dame of Thueyts, get-us the grace to be absolutely Jesus' humble and poor Christ.

Notre-Dame Of the Puy

The first sanctuary to Notre-Dame of the Puy would have been constructed toward 430 following the Virgin's apparition on a dolmen. The spiritual heart of the present cathedral as the primitive sanctuary is a "Black virgin", who represents the seated God mother, with his/her/its child on the knees. The primitive statue was probably previous in the XIII century and would have been brought of Egypt. June 8, 1794, it was burnt by the revolutionary authorities and the ashes were dispersed to avoid that one made some some relics, The statue present date verisimilitude of the XVII the century, it was enthroned solemnly at the sanctuary in 1844. Between her and the ancient destroyed statue, a mediocre and too recent work doesn't get the pleasure of the mercy, and of the common sense popular. The Sanctuary of the Puy was very expensive to the heart of Marie Rivier that often returned itself of it, especially when it visited her/its houses of the region. As far back as she/it saw this city, return Sœur Sophie, his/her/its heart bloomed of joy. One heard it to exclaim one day: "ah! here is Marie's city! I begin to feel the odor of his/her/its virtues!" Sœur Sophie says again: "while going to this same city, on the road d ' Yassingeaux, she/it felt, once, during a space of five to six miles, of the feelings of decoration and interior joy so delicious, that she/it didn't believe, she/it said, that one could taste some of softer in an ecstasy"

. According to F. Mourret, The venerable Marie Rivier p. 226Cet appeal of Marie Rivier for the sanctuary marial of the Puy is also known us by a letter that it wrote on the eve of August 15, 1804 and that it sent to deposit by Our Lady of the Puy: I would like all my soul to come to prostrate me to your feet the day of your feast in your church of the Puy and to return you my homages and those of all our small community. One day that she/it was in prayer owing Notre-Dame of the Puy, she/it asked the Virgin Saint to make know him how she/it had to drive her/its daughters and he/it seemed him to hear this interior answer: Drive your daughters by the humility. IN Hamon. Of the mind and the virtues of Mrs. Rivier p. 137-138L'humilité are the key that opens Jesus' Cœur; the humility is the big secret to really succeed in your vocation. More one is humble, more one makes good, Notre-Seigneur didn't operate the salute of the world that by the humiliation and the cross. Happy and a thousand times happy the one that applies to know Jesus Christ in a mind of humility. Marie Rivier, Wills spiritual naked. LV.

Notre-Dame Of the Providence

A statue kept to the convent of Borough-Saint-Andéol, close to the kitchen and the entry of the suppliers, is honored under the name of Notre-Dame of the Providence. When, in 1823, the big vat of stone of the cellar was filled miraculously of oil until the side, Marie Rivier made place a vial of this oil in the dog house of the statue of providence Notre-Dame, in recognition towards the Virgin Saint. At the difficult hours Marie Rivier never lost confidence, it is by the intervention of the Virgin Saint that she waited for all of God. The faith of the blissful Mother in the divine Providence didn't deny itself one instant. It was for her an usual practice, every time that she/it needed new help for his/her/its œuvres, to double his/her/its charities, in 1811 - 1812, whereas the community of Thueyts endured the scarcity that afflicted the country, Marie Rivier used itself to rescue l ' awful misery that distressed the borough of Thueyts and the neighboring villages, "every day, said Annals, our Mother made the poor people distribute a big pot of soup." She also looked after what the patients are visited regularly and "provided soup, meat and linen." at the time of the scarcity of 1831, some emergency distributions were organized to the convent of Borough and in the houses that depended on some. To this time, Marie Rivier collected several orphans and used to this work the last rests of his/her/its savings. "It is a consolation for us, said-her, to think that we don't have a coin of rest that is to maintain these children or to instruct the poor people of our schools." Several people took the liberty some time to speak discreetly to Marie Rivier of prudence and measure in the distribution of his/her/its aumônes, she/it smiled then smoothly and answered: "I have my Virgin Saint."

According to F. Mourret, The venerable Marie Rivier p, 251-252-236=374.J'espère that our small Community will always go increasing in his/her/its œuvres of charity,: I don't want that she/it sustains herself/itself if the contempt or the toughness for the poor people came to introduce itself/themselves of it. Attend - the according to the need and your small power. A. Hamon of the mind and the virtues of Mrs. Rivier p. 105

Meditation for the rosary of Notre-Dame Of the Providence

1. the unshakable faith of Marie Rivier in the Providence is bound to his/her/its love of the poor people. In 1811, the country knows the famine, the community of Thueyts stands some. To rescue the poor people of Jesus Christ, it is at this hour our first duty. When did we take what is us necessary, that have ourselves need besides? Don't we have the Providence to take care of us? Our - Lady of the Providence, please, get us the love of the poor people and a big confidence in God, our Father.

2. the unshakable faith of Marie Rivier in the Providence leans on the prayer of the poor children. Whatever is the poverty of his/her/its house, she/it never refuses their admission. All times that we were in temporal needs, I promised God to receive one or two orphans besides, and I am myself always well found of the prayers of these children. Notre-Dame of the Providence, please, get us the love of the poor people and a big confidence in God, our Father,

.3. the unshakable faith of Marie Rivier in the Providence achieves big things with poor means. Toward 1823, the construction of the Borough Convent exhausts resources, oil misses. Descend to the cellar, I am sure that you will find oil there, and when the sœurs marvels of the prodigy: You see good that the Providence protects us. Our - Lady of the Providence, please, get us the love of the poor people and a big confidence in God, our Father.

4. the unshakable liver of Marie Rivier in the Providence gets the miracle of wheat multiplied for his/her/its poor children. In 1825, there are a lot of orphans, few resources. Girl of little faith, I didn't take these children to make suffer them from the hunger, I defend you to worry you more, God will provide there. Notre-Dame of the Providence, please, get us the love of the poor people and a big confidence in God, our Father.

5. the unshakable faith of Marie Rivier in the Providence got everything for his/her/its marked work since l ' origin of the poverty seal. So in the important opportunities, we had resort to the human means, to people of authority and trustworthy, it was to conform us to the order of the Providence, but for me, I never counted that on the prayer. Our - Lady of the Providence, please, get us the love of the poor people and a big confidence in God, our Father.

Notre-Dame Of Fourvière

History written of the sanctuary of Fourvière begins to the XII e century with the construction of a first chapel. The Sanctuary was enlarged to the XVIII e century and the Virgin's statue transferred of the former altar to the new that exists again. This statue of Notre-Dame of Fourvière is a Black Virgin in front of which of numerous generations came to kneel. It is toward it that the Of Lyons bring up each time as a matter of course that they feel in big peril. Thus, in 1870, the archbishop and the Lyons Catholics made the vœu to enlarge the sanctuary if the Virgin preserved the city of the Prussian invasion. The new basilica was finished e 1896 and the statue of Our - Lady of Fourvière solemnly crowned in 1900. In August 1827, whereas she/it came back of Aix in Savoie, Marie Rivier passed by Lyons to have the consolation to go in pilgrimage to Notre-Dame of Fourvière. She/it brought up several times there during the six days that she/it stayed: in Lyons, Sœur Sophie writes that Marie Rivier, the following day of his/her/its arrival, made deposit on the altar of Notre-Dame a big letter where she exposed to this divine needs and those of his/her/its numerous family. She/it made deposit also on the altar a letter written to the demand of Mr. Vernet, in which she/it exposes the project expensive to his/her/its heart, the one to have a full house of worshippers.

This document provides us a precious testimony on the faith of Marie Rivier and his/her/its confidence in the prayer. In the state of misery and extreme poverty where we were reduced the first years, all our recourse was in the prayer (…) Knowing my inability and my misery well in every way, but waiting for all of God and protective of the a lot of Virgin Mary that we always invoked with the most tender and firmest confidence; also, it is by her that all graces and the help came us. (..) More I go, more I advance in the conduct of the big work God qu confided to me, more I feel my misery and the need of the help of the sky. He/it seems me that while the some work, it would be necessary that others were Moiseses prostrated to the foot of the altars to pull of the Cœur of Jesus Christ the graces for those that work and the blessings of the sky on their works. Without it, I don't believe that the Body can sustain itself to make a big good nor. (Marie Rivier, letter in M. Vernet, set down on the altar of Notre-Dame of Fourvière, in the month of August 1827)

The austerity of the novitiate not allowing him anymore to be going to pick some flowers, him résolut to go in the world, but no without being going to greet Marie a last time and to ask him for his/her/its protection. It is whereas the Queen of the Sky taught him the manner to offer a composed crown, not of flowers, but of Ave MARIA and more pleasant than all flowers.

'' Confide to our guardian angel to watch over us and to hand us to the order if it is necessary, but, also ask the Virgin Marie to come with us in these 15 minutes maintenance lover with God Trinitaire. The Rosary was once a crown of roses of which dealt themselves the young virgins with the days of the big feasts. The rosary, that is the third party of the rosary, had the same significance more or less; it was one rosary or small hat of flowers that decorated, more that he/it didn't cover, the head of the ladies to the Middle Ages. Doesn't the twentieth century renew this coutume70;?

Rosary, gracious name whose mystical sense designates today the Crown of roses of God's Mother, as if every Paternoster on which was a verdant bush bloom the ten Ave, the ten roses exhaling their perfume until the heaven. Or does one find this poetry that makes live the sky the poor pilgrims of the earth elsewhere?

Or does the imagination of the men have overdraft elsewhere a more delicious floor in which bloom always of the roses cool, to be deposited, by thankful sons, on their Mother's head?

ORIGIN AND ADVANTAGE OF THE ROSARY The idea to recite to Marie a crown of prayers goes back to the first centuries of the church, Saint Grégoire of Nazianze composed a long set of the most beautiful praises and the most glorious stocks and prerogatives of God's Mother. Saint Brigide, manager of Ireland, substituted for these prayers the Creed, the Paternoster, and the Ave Maria and adopted the use to thread grains of stone or wood in the shape of crown. He/it was reserved to Dominique saint to divide it in sets by the Gloria Patri, and to attach to each the meditation of one of the main mysteries of our faith.

& laquoL'origine of the rosary gets lost in the traditions of the Christian piety. The some make it appear to the deserts of Lybie, in a hermit's underground cave, of others heard it to whisper for the First time in the cells of Subiaco; others saw it again attaché, like a new sign, with Pierre's belt the hermit driving the Crusaders in the Savior's tomb.

History returns that it had imagined to cast it made of wood of the trains of rosary on which the soldiers recited a certain number of Paternoster and Ave that varied according to the solemnity of the feasts. What it is necessary to believe, it is that to the time most remote, one liked to retell the beautiful prayer that contains the greeting of an angel, a Saint's praises, and the supplications of Church to the one that is the support of the church, the director of the Saints and the Queen of the Angels. The countess of Losric who suffered from being obliged to conform to the conceited habits of the Court, had solved to change in instruments of piety the profane ornaments that his/her/its position required; it recited as many prayers every day as his/her/its containing necklace of pearls, and it wanted that after his/her/its death one put to the Virgin's feet this necklace that had served him to ask it

. Louis XIV, one of the biggest kings of France, had the habit to recite the rosary every day, convenient that he took after his/its mother. The ambassadors of Spain entered to the Court the rosary to the hand. O'Connell, the big liberator of Ireland, recited its rosary between two speeches, saying that he counted more on one Ave Maria that on his/her/its oratory, to bring back to life his/her/its homeland. & raquo

The rosary is the book of those that doesn't know how to read! The philosophy of those that doesn't know how to meditate! The lawyer that pleads, by God, in the dying person's house that doesn't know how to pray! The only book of the blind and the poor! It is the chorus of love of a mother in his/her/its child's cradle, it is the protective insurance of youth, the jewel preferred of the old age; it is the comfort of the patients: better than all, he/it calms and lulls their suffering. Saint Jean Eudes was persuaded that the prayer most pleasant to the Virgin is the Ave Maria because it contains the best news than it ever heard;, the use of the rosary was usual to him; it was his/her/its daily exercise; carried It usually to his/her/its belt wanting, by there, to inspire the practice noch to the other. Often, he/it said: & laquoJ'ai well fear that Jesus and Marie don't rebuff, at death's door, those and those that won't have this mark of piété» and he/it estimated them unworthy to participate in their mercy.

Saint Alphonse of Liguori exclaimed on his turn: & laquo OH men, how do like yourselves of the misleading and lying creatures who betray you and makes you to lose the soul and God's paradise? And why don't you like Marie point who would get you the eternal glory? The one that is religious to Marie will run away. & raquo The flowers are pleasing to Marie, but the cSurs pleases to him more, the cSurs from where exhale themselves like a perfume the prayer, the confidence and the love. She/it wants our cSurs to give them to Jesus and, by Him, to the Trinidad.

The immaculate Conception patronizes Three Orders of François saint

It is in the mystery of his/her/its immaculate Conception that the a lot of Saint Virgin Marie is the special Manager of the three branches of the big Franciscan family. Marie Immaculate, it is the ark of formed alliance of an incorruptible and covered wood of the purest gold; it is the ark of Salute that remains alone on the waters of the universal deluge; it is the white Fleece cooled by the dew of the sky while the whole earth stays in the drought, it is the flame that the big waters could not extinguish, it is the lily that decorates with flowers in the middle of the thorns that is the Garden closed to the infernal snake, it is the Fountain under seal whose clarity was never disturbed. It is the House of the Lord on which his/her/its eyes are constantly open, and in which nothing soiled must enter never; it is the mystical city of which one tells so many marvels.

December 8, 1854, in presence of 54 cardinals, 42 archbishop and 92 bishops, under the looks of an immense people that filled the vast temple of the universe, and had joined his/her/its voice to implore the mind of Truth, the Priest of the Christ Magpie IX had just pronounced the oracle waited since centuries; the divine sacrifice had offered by it on the confession of Pierre saint, the Pontiff's hand had decorated a splendid diadem it of the Queen Immaculée; carried on his/her/its aerial throne and the forehead girds on the triple crowns, it had arrived close to the porch of the basilica. There, prostrate to his/her/its feet, the representatives of the Seraphic order stopped his triumphal walk: they presented him a branch of lily made of silver, and a stem of rosebush loaded of his/her/its flowers in the same way metal. Lily and the rose, flowers of Marie, purity and love symbolized in this offering that the whiteness of money, to recall the soft burst of the star on which thinks himself the light of the sun, heightened Marie var is "beautiful as the moon" told us the divine hymn.

The touched Pontiff condescended to accept the grant of the Franciscan family, of that one could say in this day as the standard of Jeanne of bow, "that having been to the struggle, it was just that she was also to the triumph"; indeed, if the immaculate Conception was always a truth in the church, it doesn't have less of them been necessary of long doctrinal struggles to clear it of the shade and to make shine it like a dogma of faith, and the Franciscans were especially through the centuries his/her/its glorious champions. This is how ended the pumps so imposing of this big morning of December 8, 1854

Rosary for the deaths (are)

It is a very short and at the same time very rich rosary in indulgences for the deaths.
The rosary of the deaths is composed of four score, that means forty grains, in honor and memory of the forty hours that Our Lord Christ passed in limbo to deliver and to drive to the Sky all souls of the saints, died before Him. Manner to recite the rosary

Note: One uses a plain rosary while only saying four ten

You are going to find here, two models of rosary, The traditional rosary that includes five score, the rosary of the deaths. I added the luminous mysteries of the pope Jean Paul II, that can replace the mysteries happy of Thursday solely.

Explanations on the origin of the Rosary:

The origin of this devotion of the Rosary is assigned to Saint Dominique (founding of the preachy order of the Dominicans), that in the beginning of the XIIIe century used it like method of predication and prayer to convert the Albigeoises. To l 'time of St. Dominique, the rosary only included the prayers (I believe in God, Lord Prayer, I greet you Marie, Glory to the father); the prayer of fatima arrived well later! However, a Carthusian (Dominique of Prussia), it without certainty, but apparently it is well a charteux in the beginning of the XVe century that to had the idea to finish every Ave Maria by the evocation of a fact of Jesus' life (these are the different mysteries). He/it had composed some clausules thus for a set of fifty Ave, and it was called rosary. The Rosary is the simplest prayer, that everybody knows, always accessible, even at the time of the biggest fatigues and the worse épreuves.Le Rosary is an evangelical prayer, & laquocentrée on the mystery of the incarnation rédemptrice». The contemplation is & laquoun essential element of the Rosary. Without her, he/it is a body without soul. By nature, the recitation of the Rosary requires that the rhythm is quiet and that one takes are temps» (Paul IV).

The feast of the Rosary, October 7, is bound to the naval victory of the Christian on the Turkish fleet in Lépante, in October 1571.
Physically the Rosary consists of 15 score; the smaller rosary (5 score) and prayed a lot more, one can also make the rosary with a rosary, it is sufficient to make it three times.

Explanation on the origin of the rosary:

This word has an unexpected enough origin: it is the diminutive of & laquochapel», former shape of & laquochapeau». To the Middle Ages, time where the faith was very quick, every house possessed the Virgin's statuette, on the head of which one put a crown or & laquo chapel & raquo of roses. In the evening, one had the habit to say a short prayer on every flower, so that him & laquo chapel & raquo of the Virgin became an object of piety. But, as he/it was little convenient, one imagined to thread on a cord of the grains of wood or metal that served of the flowers, and one gave to the the whole name of & laquochapelet», that means & laquopetit chapel».

To recite these prayers in honor of the Marie was by comparison with a polite use of the Middle Ages, as if one plaited him a crown or a hat, & laquo chapel & raquo of roses. It is in memory of this origin that some rosaries carry the name again of & laquorosaires».

In fact the rosary is a part of the rosary, instead of making the 15 mysteries suddenly, made five mysteries only.
Explanation on the origin of the rosary of the deaths:

The rosary of the deaths has been composed by Mgr PLANTIER bishop of Nîmes, in favor of the souls of the purgatory. He/it has been approved and has been blessed by Pope Magpie IX in 1873. The rosary of the deaths of the Archiconfrérie Notre-Dame of the Suffrage is composed of 4 score, that means forty grains, in to remember the 40 hours that preceded the Resurrection and in recall of the 4 last ends of the Gospels.

HOW TO MEDITATE THE ROSARY

To start with making the sign of the Cross while saying the traditional formula; to recite then while holding the cross in his/her/its right hand the I believe in God (symbol of the apostles), on the first pearl the Lord Prayer, on each of the three pearls follow the I greet you Marie and on the fourth pearl the acclamation Glory to the Father. Then while meditating on every mystery and his/her/its corresponding fruit, to recite,: Lord Prayer, I greet you Marie ten times while leaving from the right side of the rosary and on each of the pearls. After the last I greet you gets married one recites the Glory to the Father (follow-up of the prayer of Fatima).

First Luminous Mystery. Jesus' Baptism.
Fruit of the mystery: the state of grace.

Then Jesus arrives from Galilee to the Jordan, toward Jean, to be baptized by him. This one diverted of it to him, while saying: "It is I that have need to be baptized by you, and you, you come to me! " But Jesus answered to him: "Let make for the meantime: because this is how he/it suits us to accomplish all justice." Then he/it lets it make. Having been baptized, Jesus immediately carried up water; and now the heaven opened up: he/it lives God's mind to descend like a dove and to come on him. And now a voice come from the heaven said: "This one is my beloved Son, who has all my favor." (Mt 3,13-17)

Second Luminous Mystery. The Marriages of Died.
Escapes the mystery: The confidence in God's will.

The third day, there were of marriages to Died of Galilee, and Jesus' mother was there. Jesus was also invited to these marriages, as well as his/her/its disciples. And they didn't have any wine, because the wine of the marriages was exhausted. Jesus' mother tells to him: "They don't have any wine." Jesus tells to him: "What, woman, do you wish to be? My hour didn't yet arrive." His/her/its mother tells the servers: "Everything that he/it will tell you, make it. " However there was there six jars of stone, destined to the purifications of the Jews, and containing each two or three measures. Jesus tells to them: "Fill of water these jars." They filled them until the side. He/it tells to them: "Now draw and carry of it to the master of the meal." They carried of it to him. When the master of the meal had tasted water become wine - and he didn't know from where he came, while the servers knew it, them that had drawn water - the master of the meal calls the bridegroom and tells to him: "All man first serves the good wine and, when people are intoxicated, least good. You, you kept the good wine until now! " It, Jesus made the beginning of the signs of it to Died of Galilee and he showed his/its glory and his/her/its disciples believed in him. (Jn 2,1-11)

Third Luminous Mystery. The announcement of God's Kingdom
Fruit of the mystery: the interior conversion, the holiness.

After Jean had been delivered, Jesus came in Galilee, proclaiming God's gospel and saying: "The time is accomplished and God's Kingdom is all near: repent yourselves and believe to the gospel. " (Mc 1,14-15)

Fourth Luminous Mystery. Transfiguration
Fruit of the mystery: the contemplation

However it occurred, about eight days after these words, that, taking with him Pierre, Jean and Jacques, he/it climbs the mountain to pray. And it occurred, as he/it prayed, that the aspect of his/her/its face became other, and his/her/its garment, of a lightning whiteness. And now two men conversed with him: these were Moïse and Élies that, appeared in glory, spoke of his/her/its departure, that he/it was going to accomplish in Jerusalem. Pierre and his/her/its mates were overwhelmed of sleep. Having wakened up well, they kick out his/her/its glory and the two men who were held with him. And it occurred, as these parted with him, that Pierre tells Jesus: "Mr., he/it is happy that we are here; make three tents therefore, one for you, one for Moïse and one for Élie": he/it didn't know what he/it said. And while he/it said it, occurred a cloud that took them under his/her/its shade and they were seized of fear while entering in the cloud. And a voice left from the cloud, that said: "This one is my Son, the elected, listen to it. " (Lc 9,28-35)
.
Fifth Luminous Mystery. The institution of the Eucharist
Fruit of the msytère: the practice of the sacraments.

While they ate, he/it took bread, the blessed, broke it and gave it to them while saying: "Take, it is my body." Then, taking a cut, he/it returned graces and gave it to them, and they drank all of it. And he/it tells to them: "It is my blood, the blood of the alliance, that is going to be spilled for a multitude". (Mc 14,22-24)

HOW TO MEDITATE THE ROSARY OF THE DEATHS

perso.wanadoo.fr/catholicus/Chapelet.html - 43k -
The text to the suit comes of himself site with their authorization.

The rosary has a cross and a medal of the Archiconfrérie. Between the cross and the heart, a big grain. Then, to separate the score, three others big grains. The rosary includes four score, one can make it on a traditional rosary, however it is possible to procure itself/themselves it to the Archiconfrérie Notre-Dame of the Suffrage, to see the section Ties!
A short meditation is proposed before about ten.

To start with making the sign of the Cross while saying the French formula or the Latin formula.

One begins

by the Psalm Of profundis (Latin) or Of the depths I shout toward you Lord (French) on the 1st big grain, the one that is between the cross and the heart.
And one adds: "Grant to them, Lord the eternal rest, And that shines to their eyes light without decline."

- On the grains of the four score,

"Soft heart of Marie, consolation of those that suffers,
Pray for us and for the souls quit of the Purgatory."

- After about ten, on the big grain one says:
"Grant to them, Lord the eternal rest,
And that shines to their eyes light without decline."

- One finishes by the rosary
by the Of profundis (French or Latin) with the invocation:
"Grant to them, Lord the eternal rest, And that shines to their eyes light without decline."

For about ten one proposes a short meditation. These meditations, drawn texts of the new will, are presented in two groups:
- Death and Resurrection of Jesus
- Our passage in God

1st Ten: Jesus' death.
"Father, between your hands, I put back my mind." Lc 23/46

3rd Ten: Marie's waiting in the hope.
"He/it will be the Son of the Very High and his/her/its reign won't have of end." Lc 1/32-33

4th Ten: Jesus' resurrection.
In the evening of the first day of the week Jesus came. He/it was held in the middle of his/its disciples, he/it tells to them: "the Peace is with you." He/it showed them his/her/its hands and his/her/its side. While seeing the Lord, the disciples were filled of joy. Jn 20/19-20

OUR PASSAGE IN GOD

1st Ten: The death.
"Blissful from now on those that die in the Lord. That they take a rest of their fatigues, said the mind Saint, because their works follow them." Ap 14/13

2nd Ten: The judgment

3rd Ten: The purification

Of the depths of the abyss

Of the depths of the abyss, I shouted toward you, Lord,: listen to my voice. That your ears are attentive to the voice of my prayer. If you take into account our iniquities, Lord, who will be able to subsist before you; but you are full of mercy, and I hope for you, Lord, because of your faith, of it. My soul leaned on your speech: my soul put all his/her/its confidence in the Lord. Because in the Lord is mercy and an abundant redemption. It is he that will purchase Israel of all his/her/its iniquities. Give to them, Lord, the eternal rest. And that light without end shines for them. That they rest in peace. So either him! Lord, grant my prayer. And that my scream arrives until you. PrionsO God, redeeming and Creative of all supporters, grant to the souls of your faithful servants and maids deceased, the remission of all their sins, so that they get by these devout supplications, the indulgence that they always have,
On all big grains of the rosary one says:

Requiem aeternam grant eis, Dominate. And lux perpetuated luceat eis.
Give to them, Lord, the eternal rest. And that light without end shines for them.
On the Cross, one says
Act of Faith:

My God, I believe everything that the holy Catholic Church believes firmly and sign, because it is you that told it, and that you are the very truth.

Act of hope:

My God, supported on your promises and on Christ's merits my Savior, I hope with a firm that you will trust me the grace to observe your commands in this world, and to get by this means the eternal life.

Act of Charity:

My God, who is worthy of all love, because of your infinite perfections, I like you of all my heart, and I like my neighbor as myself for the love of you

On the small grains of the four score one makes the following invocation: Soft Heart of Marie,
Be my salute! The rosary ends then by the Of Profundis, or the Paternoster and the Ave
A big means to abridge his/her/its purgatory, it is to make say some Mass while alive.

A big number of men ignores that the holy Sacrifice of the Mass would be them of a good bigger profit, if they made it offer for them, of their living, instead of letting to their heirs, to their near or to their friends the care to make celebrate it for the relief of their soul after their death. The fruits of the Sacrifice of the Mass are indeed of an a lot bigger efficiency during life that after the death, because the application that is gotten used well to the living disposed is more direct, more certain and more abundant. & raquo Benoît XV, May 31, 1921,

The Rosary of The Jesus child of Prague

This rosary consists in saying:

3 our fathers in honor of the Saint Family, and 12 Ave Maria in memory of the 12 years of the Divine Childhood of our Divine Savior.

A medal of the child-Jesus of Prague is attached to this rosary of 15 seeds.

You will say on the medal the following invocation:

Saint Child Jesus, I adore Your Cross and I accept all crosses that he/it will please You to send me.

Adorable Trinidad, I offer You for the glory of Your Saint Name, all worships of the Sacred CSur of the Saint Child - Jesus.

Every Notre-Père and I greet You Marie is preceded by the inspiration:

"And the Verb made itself flesh and It lived among us."

As finishing the rosary you will say:

Saint Child-Jesus, bless and protect - us.

The origin of this devotion holds the goodwill of Sister Marguerite, a nun Carmélite, who died in France in 1648. She/it signalled herself/itself for his/her/its devotion to the Saint Child - Jesus. The Saint Child revealed to Her serving supporter how much pleased to Him this convenient saint; He promised him that he would grant special graces, especially the purity of heart and the innocence, to all those that would carry the rosary on their person and would recite it in honor of His/her/its Saint's mysteries childhood. As sign of His/her/its Approval, He/it showed him these rosaries being resplendent of a supernatural light.
