These
meditations have been written according to the method given to
his/her/its religious by the Blissful P. Julian Eymard, founding
of the Community of the Very Saint-Sacrament.
To the very simple and very varied time, this method especially
suits the meditation made to the feet of Our living Lord in the
Saint Host. By his/her/its victim's state in the eucharistie,
Christ perpetuates, indeed, the prayer of his/her/its oblation
to the holy sacrifice of the Mass. As on the altar, Christ, in
his/her/its sacramental state adores, returns graces, makes honorable
fine and implore.
Nothing better therefore that to pray as Him by the four ends
of the sacrifice.
Can this modest work to bring to those that will use the whole
comfort that they wish the author of it.

Speech: The apogee of the charity
THE
APOGEE OF THE CHARITY
And Jesus said: '' Father, forgive to them, because they don't
know what they make. '' St Luc XXIII,34

1st
Speech THE APOGEE OF THE CHARITY
During the interview that preceded the Last Supper, Jesus told
his apostles: '' You call Me Mr. and Lord, and you say hoe,
I am it actually (1) is not this while hearing It to pray for
his/her/its enemies, that to the example of the Apostles, we
felt carried to greet It as our Mr. and our Lord!
Yes, Jesus, in this circumstance, appears our indeed Mr.. Like
yourselves enemies, make the good to those that you haïssent,(2)
had he/it says. And, joining the teaching of the example to
the one of the speech. He/it had tried to defend the authority
of the pharisiens that was angry at his/her/its life. He/it
had multiplied, to illuminate them, the proofs of his/her/its
mission and his/her/its charity had inspired him to resort to
the most energetic means: reprimands, anathemas, to pull them
to their blindness.
But, as their hate grew, Jesus' charity was revealed of as much
more merciful, and, when they had appeased against rages them
to Him and their cruelty while nailing It to the cross, to this
moment, Jesus who dreaded for them the vengeance of the Sky,
let fall of his/her/its lips die this sublime prayer: ' Father,
forgive to them, because they don't know what they make. ''
- OH my Jesus, that You deserve your title well of Mr.; You
have the right to tell us: listen to me by what You can say:
imitate me.
Jesus in this circumstance appears our Lord as indeed. While
the other men, and especially the holiest, approaching the death
tremble to the memory of their mistakes, and that they don't
stop purifying itself/themselves by acts to repent to get ready
to appear before the God's court three times saint, Jesus, at
this supreme hour, didn't let appear the least rear thought
that he/it needed forgiveness for Himself. He/it implores the
forgiveness of the other, but He/it doesn't express the lightest
regret of no of his/her/its thoughts, of no of his/her/its actions.
And however, if he/it had really had need of it, he/it would
have unsuccessful to make it, Him that had always shown the
quickest horror of the sin, that had spent his/her/its life
preaching the penitence! He/it would have refused to humiliate
itself/themselves at the moment decisive The one that proclaimed
itself soft and humble of heart! No: but Jesus, until in the
excess of his/her/its lowerings and in the anguish of his/her/its
tortures, was fully conscious of his/her/its dignity, He/it
had your conviction of the purity to perfect his/her/its soul,
and it is for it that, even to the approaches of the death,
He/it enjoyed a serenity internally that no remorse, that no
crying didn't come to alter.
Oh Jesus, my Lord,; I adore You; You are God's true Son that
no one could ever convince sin. With the feelings of the deepest
faith, I retell to your praise these words of the Co Church:
You Sanctus solus, you Dominus solus, you Altissimus solus.
(3) you are the only Saint, the only Lord, the only one Very
High.
II
The precept that, by his/her/its elevation and his/her/its extent,
distinguish the Christian law and the Jewish law, the one that,
for this reason, Christ calls his clean precept, it is the one
to like our neighbor as ourselves. However the most heroic act
of this divine law is definitely the love of the enemies. Is
not yet this each day that we have the opportunity to exercise
it! The men are made thus that we rarely spend one day without
we have to endure a few mean words or a few bad process; at
least our touchiness or our imagination believes it to find
some reasons to crumple us and to feel the resentment, our Lord
knew it well. As he/it doesn't only have wanted that his/her/its
first speech of crucified was an expression of forgiveness.
He/it always put under our eyes the example present of his/her/its
charity in the Sacraments of Penitence and Eucharist. Without
it we would not have failed to look for the apologies to avoid
a duty so repugnant in the nature. Just or sinners we could
have said: '' Lord, it is so far your Passion: we would like
to see You practicing the charity towards the enemies ''. But
now we are not a right more to pity us; our vœux is filled,
there is only to admire and to thank.
'' Why remained Notre-Seigneur him day and night on so many
altars or no one comes to take the graces that he/it offers
to full hands! He/it likes, he/it hopes, He/it waits! If he/it
didn't come on our altars that to some days, he/it would fear
that a sinner, propelled back by a good desire and the looking
for, not finding it and waited: he/it likes to wait better for
Himself the sinner during years, that to make wait for it one
instant, what would discourage it maybe when he/it would like
to come out of the slavery of the sin. '' And, when touched
by this patience and this understanding welcome, when, already
purified maybe by an act of perfect contrition that this goodness
will have provoked, the sinner comes to solicit the official
forgiveness of his/her/its mistakes in the Sacrament of Penitence,
that she is delicate and considerate Jesus' goodness! He/it
gave order to his/her/its ministers to absolve without delay
all those that show their sins with a true repentance, and the
priest, without committing himself a mistake dawdles, could
not frustrate them of the kindness of the absolution.
But if Notre-Seigneur waits thus for the sinners, it is e park
that it knows that they will come: He/it deserved them Himself
the grace of the repentance! To Every instant of the day and
the night, He/it sacrifices for them, in some place of the globe,
but the Saint Sacrifice, retelling to God the supplication of
Mount Calvary then,: Father, forgive to them, he/it doesn't
know what they make. Finally to punish an indubitable manner
the reconciliation, Jesus invites the sinners to the kiss of
the Communion. Without it a lot of converts would fall in the
sadness, because more their return to God is sincere and more
they are pained of Him to have offended so much. At the time
of the Communion Jesus dissipates all these laborious memories,
He/it spills joy and the peace in their soul, and not seeing
anymore whereas the infinite, sentient mercy so to speak that
they are forgiven, the sinners exclaim delight; '' Yes, I am
Jesus' friend, since he/it gave himself/itself all to me ''
Oh Jesus, thank you for the examples so touching of charity
and mercy that You give us. To imitate them will be my action
of graces for the forgiveness that so much time You granted
to me.
It
is the moment to ask us or we are some as for the practice of
the command that Notre-Seigneur us to fact to forgive to our
enemies.
III
To forgive, one says, I am impossible; the care of my honor
and my dignity order me the reserve! The reserve, either; but
it would not be necessary to take advantage of this word to
excuse the scornful words, the haughty manners, the hurtful
processes. Your dignity, your honor! Than in summers you as
jealous when it is about committing the sin that damages your
soul while delivering it more or less completely to the demon!
And, precisely because you is sinner, didn't you deserve all
contempts?
With two ounces of Christian sense, you would judge your offenses,
even more free, are only the just punishment of those than you
did yourselves inflict unjustly to God, are you besides bigger
than Jesus - Christ? And Him, didn't he/it forget his/her/its
dignity and his/her/its rights to go to the front of his/her/its
enemies while offering them the forgiveness and while asking
for it for them his/her/its Father?
I forgive, one says again, but I don't forget; I forgive, but
I avoid their presence; I forgive, but it is good for once.
Miserable restrictions of self-esteem that don't want to renounce
itself completely. Is this as well as does Christ forgive?
He/it doesn't dig in re Him and his/her/its enemies the abyss
of forgets it; He/it likes them and He/it prays for them. And
when we would fall again one thousand and a thousand times in
the same sin, our past mistakes are forgotten, unobtrusive as
if they had never been committed, Veiled our model! Let's not
use cunning with the forgiveness that we grant, because God,
that one doesn't deceive, will measure his/her/its mercy of
on ours.
So much illusions the devout souls forge themselves in this
matter! To save the appearances, they will make good face to
those that have them offenses, but internally they will envy
their prosperity! ; will be delighted with their failures and
will savor the critiques that they will hear, as having it nested
not to approve them.
Examine your conduct attentively to see if, according to the
recommendation of Saint Paul, all is there in conformity with
the feelings of the Christ Jésus. Repair the crime of
the enemies of our religion that travesties then and ridicule
this virtue so sublime of the love of the enemies; repair by
acts of love the crime of those that lives in their neighbor's
hate; comfort Notre-Seigneur of the humiliation that he/it receives
the Christian that resist the strength of his/her/its examples,
to the calls of his/her/its grace, to the action of his/her/its
love Sacrament and that persist in their antipathies, in their
resentments, in their spites. Recite, with a sincere desire
of amendment and progress, the act of charity. It is the moment
to ask us or we are some as for the practice of the command
that Notre-Seigneur us to fact to forgive to our enemies.

Oh
God, that, liking the peace and the charity, you also constitute
the guard of it, give to all our enemies these grants so precious;
also grant them the forgiveness of all their mistakes and by
your sovereign power deliver us of the pain that they would
like to make us. By Christ Notre-Seigneur (5)
IV
That she/it is beautiful and instructive this prayer of the
Saint Church! To forgive doesn't mean to approve or to let make,
We can and we must hate in our offenders the intentions, the
intentions, the vouloirs, the perverse acts of which we are
victims,; the charity doesn't defend us to think and to judge
that their conduct to our consideration is miserable, nor to
ask and to pursue the repair of the wrongs that they caused
us. But in all it we must act without sourness, without desire
of vengeance, by pure love of the Justice, by horror of the
scandal, while saving, as much as he is possible, the person
of the guilty parties. It is for this reason that the church,
when she/it teaches us to pray for our enemies, at the same
time as she/it makes us ask God to deliver us of the pain, that
they want to make us, also invite us to get them the grace of
the peace in this world and in the other, while asking God to
grant them the mind of charity and the remission of their sins.
Enter in these arrangements of the Church, your mother. Ask
God that your charity takes the measurements of the one of Jesus;
it is necessary so that you are a very commensurate member of
his/her/its mystical body. Ask for this grace, by the intercession
of Marie and saints that is signalled themselves in particular
in the practice of this virtue St. Étienne, the first
of the Martyrs.

The Royal Answer
He/it was about the sixth hour (noon) when on the summit of
Mount Calvary, covered in part already by darkness, rose Jesus'
voice praying for his/her/its executioners. Struck by these
words as for a forehand, the in of the thieves, crucified to
the Savior's sides, turns toward It, and, upset by the grace,
it gets bolder to utter this prayer: '' Lord, remember me, when
you will arrive in your kingdom. '' And Jesus answers, with
a radiance of goodness and ineffable joy. '' Today, I assure
it to you, you will be with me in paradise. '' What stage and
what interview! Why is it necessary that the men, so greedy
emotions, so passionate for the reading of the novels, remain
so different to the big drama of Mount Calvary, all full of
moving and marvelous episodes?
Today, oh Jesus, I come to study this ineffable answer that
you condescended to address to the penitent thief. Give me well
the necessary light for the to understand and that she/it scorches
my heart of a new love for You.
Will you be today with Me in paradise, What is therefore the
one that makes one so extraordinary promise? Is not this the
one that said: '' do the foxes have their lairs and the birds
their nests, but the man's Son doesn't have where to rest the
head? '' (6) this is not the one that, few instants ago, did
the Jews provoke a bantering tone: '' If you is God's Son, do
come down from the cross? Yes, it is well this same Jesus: but,
if he/it lived poor, it is by love for us; if he/it is reduced
to the impotence, it is by what he/it wants it well. Actually,
He/it is a king, rex ego sum., the King of the kings, Rex regum,;
Infinitely rich, He/it carries of it Him the treasures of the
Divinity; infinitely powerful, He/it would be able to, of an
act of will, to annihilate his/her/its enemies. Will come one
day or all his/her/its size will appear; He/it will appear then
as the sovereign Mr., the Judge, supreme of the earth and heaven,;
the elected will share its happiness, the damned will feel the
effects of his/her/its anger eternally, But this hour didn't
yet come. Jesus doesn't make less, in this circumstance, to
explode his/her/its divinity in a very striking manner, of them.
Would he/it be able to, if him God was not, to promise these
sinners convert hardly that he immediately entered in paradise
after his/her/its death? It is therefore that he/it read to
the bottom of this man's conscience, that he/it judged the sincerity
of his/her/its arrangements, q'IL forgave him his/her/its sins
and put back the pains that were had to them. And of the prerogatives,
evidently divine, Jesus attributes them in essence, adding to
his/her/its words the strength of an oath,: In truth, it is
I that tell it to you, today you will be with Me in paradise.
Oh Jesus, I believe firmly in your divinity, in spite of the
destitution, the shame, the impotence that enveloped You on
the Cross,; your speech tells to me sufficiently that You are
God's true Son and I offer You my humble worships. But how much
more I like recognizing You in the silence and the extinction
of the host! '' On the Cross hid the Divinity only, but here
even disappears the humanity; at two I believe however, and
confessing their reality I renew the demand of the penitent
thief. '' (7)
II
Where
the sin had crammed, the grace overabounded (8) This speech
by which the apostle S. Paul characterizes the Redemption, also
apply to every detail of this big work; she/it is especially
true of the conversion of the good thief. What prodigy indeed
that this return to instantaneous and complete God! Such the
flame that would scorch all to-stroke an even green wood, like
the grace in the soul of this sinner again filled of the vices
that one drives to the gibbet. St. Augustin, comparing one to
the other the resurrection of a dead and a sinner's conversion,
doesn't know where explodes the divine power more, but he doesn't
hesitate anymore when he considers them to the point of mercy
view; in the conversions this one triumphs and reaches his/her/its
apogee. Yes, my Jesus, I rent your merciful love that made you
live on the earth in a liable flesh to save the sinners. I bless
You in particular to have saved the thief crucified to your
sides and I unite to the transportation of recognition that
sprang and will spring forever of his/her/its heart. My soul
tressaille of joy also while thinking about the innumerable
souls that the despair watched and that, to the evocation of
the speech addressed by You to a malefactor, one felt their
confidence to be born again in your forgiveness.
But it is not only the sinners' that Jesus' promise must inspire
confidence. If he/it was so good and so liberal towards a villain
who, until his/her/its last moments, made the pain only, that
must not hope those that use all their life in the exercise
of the virtues? If he/it gives his/its kingdom for so little
thing to one his/her/its enemies, will he/it refuse it to his/her/its
friends, to those whose constant worry is to honor it and to
like it? Also the Church made us her to sing: While absolving
Mayor-Madeleine, while granting the thief, You gave us, Lord,
the hope of the forgiveness. (9)
This insurance, He/it will especially give it to us when we
will receive it in our heart for the last time, The Communion
in money is, so to speak, a recourse in grace carrying Jesus'
personal signature, it is our Judge giving us, before we presented
ourselves at his/her/its court, a title to his/her/its mercy,
a right to the discharge, a guaranty that is merely Himself.
As waiting for us can enjoy hard the of this true paradise that
is the perpetual presence of Notre-Seigneur in the Saint Eucharist.
Is not - this not each morning, to our first meeting with Him,
that Jesus seems to retell us,: will you be today with Me in
the Sky? If we knew how to appreciate It, as we would be happy
to the Saint Eucharist, as we would be greedy to contemplate
It, faithful to revive in us his/her/its memory! But our attachment
to the things of the earth prevents of it to us. The Saints,
them, understood It, like the Bx. Father Eymard who exclaimed
in a transportation of love: the Eucharist is, that want yourselves
besides! Let's unite ourselves to these souls privileged in
order to thank Notre-Seigneur of the marvelous efforts of his/her/its
love better to make we happy on the earth and to associate us
to his/her/its happiness in the eternity.
III
To
the demand of the good thief: Lord, Remember me when you will
arrive in your kingdom, Jesus answered: In truth, I tell it
to you, today you will be with Me in paradise. So achieved itself,
with a striking analogy of expression, the prediction that Notre-Seigneur
had made to the Pharisees,: In truth, I tell it to you, The
publicains and the women of bad life will precede you in God's
kingdom (10).
The Pharisees heard Jesus' formal declarations touch his/her/its
divinity, they saw his/her/its miracles: nothing has piu to
illuminate them; to the foot the da Cross, they sneer. While
au thief the attitude resigned of Jesus forgiving to his/her/its
executioners is sufficient for in to be touched and to recognize
in Him the true Messiah that the Jews blasphemed. What lesson
of humility and charity the Savior gives us from then on by
his/her/its answer!
Lesson of humility. Saint Paul had understood it, him that,
after having favored t-square of extraordinary and elevated
graces to the supreme honor of the apostolate, after having
practiced the heroic virtues and acquirements of immense merits,
wrote to the first supporters: .. I believe not to have anything
to reproach me, but it is not a reason to presume my salute.
'' (11) no, nothing guarantees against the saddest failings.
Whereas poor persons sinners will convert after a mission, or
even a good reading, the men whose œuvres appears laudable
fell as low as one can fall, and I saw (so to speak the author
of The imitation) those that ate the Bread of the Angels to
make their delights of the pasture of the swines (12)
Lesson of charity. He/it often arrives that the good Christian,
passing the limits of the real goodwill, don't see in the infidels
or in those that lead a ribald life that of the enemies on which
it is necessary to ask the Sky to throw his/her/its thunderbolt.
Jesus could tell to them as to the Jacques apostles and Jean:
you don't know what mind you must be enlivened; it is the mind
of charity, of mercy with which He/it answered, full of readiness,
to the thief's advances. Let's not forget it: so much as a soul
lives in a living body, his/her/its salute, if compromised either
it, is not definitely impossible. All our conduct will amount
therefore to this rule; nothing to say, nothing made that one
likely to move away Christ's souls all to say, all to make to
bring closer Christ's souls. It won't prevent us not at all
of hates the pain, to stigmatize vices, but we must already
forbid ourselves all speech, all gait that could have for result
to make more difficult to the souls the path, so rough by himself,
of the return to God.
Let's make carry on Jesus' double lesson our soul searching.
Instead of locking us in the proud attitude of the Pharisees
in, so scornful for the publicains and cleared them, let's remind
ourselves that all grace is God's free grant; and, well far
from throwing the stone to those that live in the sin, let's
have compassions of their unhappy state, let's ask for them
for mercy and forgiveness.
IV
Today
you will be with Me in paradise! The thief had only asked for
a simple to remember, and Jesus, because he is a king, because
he is God, answers with magnificence this prayer. Such is, says
St. Amboise, the line of conduct that God drew himself/itself.
He/it always grants more or better than one asks him. The same
thought is expressed by the church in the collection of the
11st Sunday after the Pentecost: God all powerful and eternal
that, by the excess of your goodness, surpass the merits and
want them of those that implore You, spill on us your mercy;
make us discount of that that our conscience made us fear and
grant us the graces that we don't dare to wait for our prayers.
Therefore, confidence!
But so that the prayer touches Jesus' Cœur, it must resembles
to the one of the good thief,.. Lord, remember me '', it is
a true scream of the heart, eloquent in his/her/its simplicity,
complete in his/her/its briefness. To tell someone that one
likes and of which one is liked: do you remember me, this is
not all to ask him and all to tell to him? Let's keep ourselves
well to want to go to God with this prayers logues and complicated.
The love doesn't have need that of an I, Lord, remember of me!
It is sufficient to all my needs. Remember my sins to erase
them, of my weakness to stretch me the hand, of my sufferings
to alleviate them, of my sadness to sympathize there, of my
temptations to help me to defeat them.

Speech: The in love donation
Having
seen his/her/its mother and by her the disciple that he/it liked,
Jesus tells his/her/its mother:
'' Woman, there is your son '; then he/it tells the disciple:
'' has your mother. '' St. Jean, XIX, 26-27,
|

Frightened by the mysterious darkness
that fell on the Limestone, the crowd left from it. TO this
moment, Jesus calls his Mother. ‘' Woman, he/it says mildly…
' ' Marie tressaille, with Jean and the holy women she/it approaches
of the Cross,… ' ' This one will be henceforth your son,
‘' and the look, Jesus designates Jean. Then, turning
toward the disciple that he/it liked his/its painful eyes: ‘,
there is your Mother. ' ' Fut him ever supreme disposition more
touching and more important than the one contained in Jesus'
words! It is first of all the expression of his/her/its love
for Marie: until the tip, He/it wants to remain for her a my
Son. He/it took care of his/her/its mother during his/her/its
public life, and now that he/it is going to leave it, He/it
doesn't want that she/it stays isolated and without support;
He/it will designate him one of his/her/its friends on that
she/it can count. But on whom is going to carry Jesus' choice?
Ah! So Pierre was there! Marie she/it didn't come back him of
right to llui, the chief of l ' Church, the Christ's priest?
Jesus yet preferred him Jean. Not only because Jean was there
and to reward his/her/its fidelity, but because Jean was the
virgin apostle, and, according to the thought of Jérôme
saint, the virgin Christ could not confide the Queen of the
virgins that to the one whose virginity had already made the
privileged of sound Mr..
There is however in the Savior's speech more that a testimony
of love for his/her/its Mother, more that a liberty for Jean.
The Tradition is unanimous to affirm that the beloved apostle
was to this moment the representative of the whole humanity
to receive in our name the bequest of love that Jesus, made
us. To the men that he/it had called his/her/its but, his/her/its
brothers, Jesus had already given his/her/its speech, his/her/its
miracles, his/her/its promises, his/her/its entire person under
the sacramental species, his/her/its blood of which he would
not remain soon more a drop in his/her/its exhausted flesh,
in the dried veins, in his/her/its transfixed heart, He doesn't
have anything anymore, more nothing that his/her/its Mother!
Hey well, He/it gives It to them. ‘Woman, here is your
son ‘'. It is as if he/it said: in the name of my divine
authority and in the name of the love that I carry them, I want,
oh Mother, that you reported on the homes the s feelings that
you have for Me; ‘, I transport on them the rights that
I have to your maternal love: everything that you will make
for them, will be made for Me; ‘' I hand you between the
hands the fruits of my Redemption, the salute of the souls,
the care of my Church, the cult of my Eucharist. ' (13)
Oh Jesus, I adore your infinite power that achieves with a simplicity
really divine biggest chiefs-d'œuvre. Some words were sufficient
You to change the substance of bread in your Flesh sacred, and
some words are sufficient You to operate in Marie's heart these
marvels of grace that the role of Mother of the human kind supposed.
I also bless your love that didn't fear to face the worse humiliations
in order to live among us in the Eucharist, nor d ‘to
impose to your Mother cruellest sufferings to spread his/her/its
motherhood to all men.
II
The
gospel didn't return tired answer of Marie to Jesus' will, but
that could question his/her/its compliance while considering
that that it made and what it continues to make every day for
the least of his/her/its children! This is not to the inspiration
of the a lot of Virgin Saint that the foundation of the innumerable
communities is of religious and of nuns that are to the service
of the needy and suffering humanity? Yes, the whole glory of
the exploits accomplished by the big army of the charity comes
back to Marie, because when one goes back to the origins of
these religious institutions, everywhere one recovers it inspiring
the founders, illuminate them, the supportive blessing their
newborn œuvres, working to their development and their
stability. And, non happy to send his/her/its servants and his/her/its
maids thus to provide to his/her/its family's needs, that of
time Marie she/it is not intervened in person to affirm by prodigies
his/her/its vigilance and his/her/its maternal goodness! One
saw it rocking his/her/its virginal hands of the abandoned children,
giving bread to the poor, delivering the captives, healing the
patients, consoling the dying persons! There are not all countries
of the famous pilgrimages to attest the assiduity with which
Marie is suitable to the vœux of his/her/its children?
To these generous kindness, these miraculous favors join the
graces of which she/it fills each Christian in the circumstances
plain of life. To just she/it gives light and strength to persevere
and to progress in the virtue: she/it protects them against
the ambushes of the demon and the fascinations of the world.
To the sinners she/it inspires the shame of their mistakes,
the need to pull itself/themselves to their unhappy state and
she/it steals them to God's anger. To a special title she/it
is also an incomparably good Mother for the worshippers of the
Eucharist. '' Oh! n' don't doubt some, if you entered to the
Coterie, if you have happiness to know, to like and to serve
the Very Saint Sacrament, it is Marie's that you owe it; it
is her that asked for you the celestial Father for the care
of love of the God of The Eucharist; it is her that kept you
pure in the middle of the world, her that drove you like by
the hand to the foot of the throne eucharistique, her that will
communicate you all secrets of his/her/its Son's love and will
make of you a perfect copy of his/her/its virtues. '(14)
Thank Marie therefore for all graces of your life and especially
for the biggest of all, the one to like and to serve the King
of the kings in his/her/its Sacrament of love. Thank it with
the saints and the elected that are all indebted of their happiness
and their glory to him.
III
Woman, here is your son. When Marie heard Jesus' mouth
this speech so consoling for us, she must have died of pain.
It was therefore there his/her/its Son's last adieu! And Marie
that, illuminated of in-top seized the whole range of this speech,
glimpsed, in the painful contrast that those that surrounded
it, contrast that those that surrounded it offered, the history
of the world until the end of the times offered, d,une leaves
Jean and the holy women, of the other the executioners. His/her/its
heart felt pierced then in depth by the prophetic sword, but
as it had seen her/its Son spreading his/her/its hands and his/her/its
feet to the nails, it offered her/its heart to the immolation.
Sympathize to the immense pain that Jesus felt when, of the
top of the Cross, kissing his/her/its divine look all generations,
He lives a big part of the humanity to refuse to like Marie
and to persist in pulling him all his/her/its titles of glory.
Also offer your compassion to the a lot of Virgin Saint, and
retell, with all the affection of which you are capable, this
act of repair,:
Oh Immaculate Cœur of Marie, chief-d'œuvre of God,
delights of the a lot of Saint Trinidad, to bless you and to
glorify you should be our happiness, you liked us so much! After
God, it is yours that we owe all, You gave us Jesus and ' for
us, and for our salute, ' you subscribed to his/her/its immolation;
you shared his/her/its sufferings; ' your pain was big as the
sea! ''.
Yet, instead of liking you, alas, there are poor wretches inspired
by the hell, that dares to throw against you, against your most
glorious privileges, of loathsome blasphemies! And every day,
by their sins, of the thousand of Christian renews the Passion
of Jesus and yours!
And myself that of time, by my mistakes, I united to the executioners
of Mount Calvary!
Oh Mother of mercy, Shelter of the sinners, forgiveness!
Forgiveness for me. That henceforth I am for you, as Jean saint,
a son full of tenderness!.
Forgiveness for your blasphemers and for all sinners of the
universe. For them, Jesus poured all his/her/its blood. For
them, He/it confided you all graces, fruits of his/her/its death.
Oh Mother, so powerful and so good, have mercy of your children,
'' prodigal sons ''. Illuminate them, touch them, convert them,
and that one day, they go to the Sky to celebrate your goodness
kindergarten forever. (15)
IV
Monstra
you Matrem esse, sumat per you preces, that pro nobis natus,
tulit esse tuus. Show that you are our Mother: that he/it accepts
by you our prayers, The one that vowing to be born for our salute
condescended to make itself/themselves your Son. This beautiful
stanza of the Ave husbands stella indicates us what manner the
a lot of Virgin Saint fills his/her/its Mother's role with regard
to his/her/its è children it offers to God our prayers
as there joining his. By his/her/its divine motherhood Marie
ascertained indeed, the privilege to be the first associated
of his/her/its Son in his/her/its universal meditation between
the men and God, all treasures formed by the sufferings and
Jesus' sacrifice are at the disposal of Mayor, because it is
her that gave Him his/her/its body, instrument of the Redemption,
she also has that accepted freely and prepared his/her/its immolation
on the Cross. Probably she/it is only a simple creature and
it is why she/it cannot have in absolute mistress the Savior's
treasures; when she/it wants to draw that of which his/her/its
children of the earth have need there, she/it must ask for it.
But this prayer being the one of a mother his/her/its son's,
Marie is certain to be granted always. Also the Catholic Tradition
him to her named the omnipotence on the knees: omnipotentia
supplex
Let's resort therefore to Marie with a whole confidence. Let's
ask him for many; let's give him the opportunity to appear our
Mother while acting to his/her/its consideration with a child's
abandonment.
And so Marie prays for us, also pray for Marie, for the extension
of his/her/its cult, for his/her/its glorification by the Church.
For a long time he/it is question to dedicate by a definitive
and obligatory sentence the Assumption of the T.S.Vierge. To
the last days of 1914 several bishops, in union with the representatives
of the secular and regular clergy one addressed to the Pope
Benoît XV, a supplication expressing the vœux that
he/it is also pleasing in the Divine Providence to make erect
in Catholic dogma the traditional and general belief of the
Christian people to the universal mediation of intercessions
of Marie by God. He/it depends on us, for a part, to precipitate
by our prayers this blessed hour that will be the pledge of
a new effusion of blessings on the church.

Speech: The bottom of the abyss
And
toward the ninth hour, Jesus shouted a strong voice: '' My God,
my God,
why did you abandon me? '' St. Mathieu, XXVII,46.
|

Jesus is himself you after having spoken to his/her/its
Mother and Jean. This silence lasts since soon three hours,
when sudden a scream of anguish escapes of the chest of the
divine Agonizing: My God, my God, why did you abandon Me? What
means this speaks mysterious? It is certain that Christ, being
the incarnate Verb, could not be abandoned by the other Person
of the Saint Trinidad è his/her/its nature humane was
not able non to be abandoned by the person of the Verb: the
union hypostatique even asked that Christ was not only one instant
in enmity with God by the absence of the grace in his/her/its
soul, nor private of the beatific vision although he lived on
the earth. Then how to explain the Savior's pain; pain so violent
that she/it pulls Him this lament? Until this moment he/it suffered
without uttering a speech, real Lamb that one drives to the
death,; now not only He/it complains, but, to the testimony
of St. Paul, He/it shouts in a full voice: Cum clamore valido,
He/it shouts in side of abundant tears: and uttered lacrymis…
(16)
Hey what, oh my divine Jesus, don't you take into consideration
those that surround your Cross? What test for the faith of those
that likes you, what triumph for those that condemned you like
false prophet! To my asset to ask You why and how did God abandon
You?
I believe to understand that this moment was the one of the
terrifying deadline where God had to, in all rigor, to treat
You as the chief of the sinners. And since the sinner's crime
is of himself
to divert God, since the punishment deserved by this crime that
is that on his/her/its Turn tour diverts itself of the sinner,
it was necessary than You, oh my Jesus, whom you were made the
guaranty of the sinners, You expiated this crime, that You felt
this punishment, not actually, but while undergoing the awful
torment that is in the sinner the consequence of his/her/its
real separation of with God, Yes, it the faillait. This dangerous
necessity was reason of your mysterious despair. You could have
avoided it, You were free to substitute you for the guilty man,
but you wanted it: impossible now to escape your Father's justice.
He/it must rage and HE/IT abandons You. Accustomed to the fullness
of the Divinity that lived in her, your humanity feels then
as let to herself; the Divinity sustains You again, but without
you Humanity feels it. This is enough so that this incomplete
and momentary abandonment throws your soul in an inexpressible
trouble.
Oh very soft Jesus, innocent Victim of our sins, I sympathize
to your mysterious desertion, and in spite of the obvious failing
by which You wanted to show it, I believe firmly in your divinity.
It is precisely because You are seen abandoned of the men and
felt abandoned of your Father AH! How much I am delighted with
to know You henceforth safe from all suffering! I adore your
holy Soul, once sorry to Mount Calvary, now enjoying an infinite
happiness. My most ardent desire is to increase his/her/its
joy by my worships and my love.
II
In
itself nothing obliged Notre-Seigneur to undergo this awful desertion:
the least of his/her/its actions being of an infinite value had
been sufficient to purchase us. Again a stroke, to what good then
this torture so disconcerting for our reason? It is, that after
so many sufferings endured, he/it remains one that Jesus doesn't
yet know, the most moving of all human pains, the one of the despair
caused by the sadness of a complete abandonment, of it. And advanced
by his/her/its love, He/it wanted in to savor the bitterness,
so that as having made the experience, Him his/her/its didn't
find impotent to sympathize there and our inspired full confidence,
when we would go to Him to find the consolation, But there, as
everywhere else, He/it didn't carry on Himself the strokes to
half; He/it carried as far as possible the horror of the desertion,
Ila started with throwing itself/themselves fervently in the abandonment
of the creatures; the end of his/her/its life was a real disaster.
He/it passed, without transition, of the triumph to the contempt
with a frightening speed, forty-eight hours ago, He/it would not
have appeared in the streets of Jerusalem without being cheered;
today all returned against Him or oneself abandoned. To this moment,
like all man that the human emergency absence reduces waters barks,
Jesus raises his eyes skywards to look there for a supreme support.
This support misses to Him. His of his/her/its Father that opened
up again yesterday to his/her/its least desires, is closed itself
mercilessly to The one that, for us, condescended to make itself/themselves
'' sin '' And Jesus recognizes that God's conduct is just, It
confesses that, seen the state where It cut down voluntarily,
It is as unworthy to receive the divine help that it deserves
to undergo all human abandonments, No, no one will never feel
a desertion as painful will be in a situation as despairing! So,
at the darkest hours of the life, there are always for us a light
that shines the side of the Sky, if he/it is not a sinner, so
criminal he is, that, crying: '' My God '', hears a see to answer
to him '' my child '', if the death of the good Christian is customarily
very soft, it is because You, oh Jesus, You delivered Yourselves
entire to the torment of an universal abandonment.
But I can forget that this grace of an unshakable confidence in
God, that who is the Eucharist transmits it to me while giving
him all his/her/its strength and all his/her/its size? Is not
this in front of the Eucharist that it is good to repeat this
speech of the David prophet: Lord, I shouted toward you and I
said: Are you all my hope? (17) who didn't make the consoling
of it comforting experience is? No, the despair is not possible
to that knows to understand God's grant that is the Eucharist.
It is the insurance of the forgiveness of my mistakes, the source
of all graces of which I have need to save me, the pledge of the
eternal happiness. And I would like, in the impetus of recognition
that this thought inspires to me, to provide to retell to all
men,; taste how much the Lord is good; blissful the one that puts
in Him his/her/its confidence (18)!
III
Jesus
had used the language Aramaean to make hear his/her/its agonizing
scream. Éli, Éli, lamâh sabacthani? The executioners,
struck by the sound of these words, took the change on Jesus'
thought and started sneering: ', Hold, here is that he/it calls
Élie. We are going to see if the prophet will come delivers
It. ''
It is the essence of the profanity to ridicule all religious feelings
thus. The chief of the French Protestantism, Clavin, went farther.
He/it didn't fear to affirm that Christ had died indeed in desperate
one. Awful calumny, against which our faith and our love will
never rise enough heart. No, Jesus didn't die in desperate one.
His/her/its scream of supreme anguish is not anything less that
an act of heroic love, It has there that the love that can, without
offending it, to make to God of such reproaches and to risk to
these sorts of adjurations. My God, why have me you abandoned,
when You know that I cannot live separated of You, that your only
presence is capable to comfort me; when do You have that I like
You?
Jesus repaired thus by advance the crime of those that, visited
by the test, turn against God and look for in the blasphemy a
relief to their pain. He/it especially repaired the outrage makes
to God by the sinners himself distrustful of his/her/its infinite
mercy and répètant with despair Cain's speech; my
crime is too big so that it I am forgiven. He/it repaired the
weaknesses of the Christian souls that disgust themselves of the
prayer again as soon as they don't find sensitive consolation,
preferring God's grants to God Himself, there more.
Unite yourselves par excellence to the Repairer's feelings. Offer
to God this scream of love resigned the divine Agonizing to oppose
it to the screams of revolt that the wounded pride and the upset
sensuality makes so many lips go up. Promise to Notre-Seigneur
to take advantage of his/her/its example, and, walled by the grace
that his/her/its ineffable desertion deserved you, to resort always
to It with confidence in your interior desolations and in your
sufferings. So you will answer the pressing invitation of his/her/its
love; Come to Me you all that are in the pain and I will redo
you. (19)
IV
To
be quit of God, it is for the biggest man of the misfortunes.
As thinking at the hell us is impressed more by the torment of
fire; actually, the supreme torment of the reprobate, it is the
pain of the prejudice, it is God's deprivation, because they are
as torn internally forever by the opposition irreducible between
their nature that, of all his/her/its weight, drag them toward
God and their will corrupted that repudiates It absolutely, here
low God doesn't ever abandon completely the man; his/her/its grace
pursues it until the last moment, but the man has the sad to be
able to move away of God, to oblige God to abandon it and it for
the eternity. can be preserved ourselves of such a misfortune!
' Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, while obeying the
Father's will and by the coopéraiton of the Holy spirit,
You gave life in the world by your death; deliver me, by the virtue
of your Body and your Blood, all my mistakes and all pains,; make
that I become attached inviolably to your law and don't permit
that I ever part with You '' ' (20)
Also think about the multitude of unfortunate persons that, of
heart gaîté, risk to undergo this terrible separation.
The some, defeated by their passions that they don't have courage
to tame, hope, before dying, to have the time to repent,; others,
indifferent, let go the things without worrying about what can
happen to them; of others finally, blinded by the hate, want to
brave the justice and God's power. By the merits of the sufferings
that Christ endured during his desertion on the Cross, implore
the divine Mercy to have mercy of these souls '' please let touch
you by this offering of the merits of your divine Son and, in
your goodness, bend to your law wills even rebel… (21)
